We welcome all who wish to join us in celebrating the word of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We also have a parish hall on site, which we hire out for events and occasions. St. Paul’s Catholic Primary School is also located on the same grounds as the church and hall.

HISTORY
In 1861 Bishop Jean Baptiste Pompallier sent his nephew, Father Antoine Pompallier, to Ngaruawahia.
Here, in a small whare on the banks of the Waipa river, the original Catholic mission to this area was founded.
It was not until after the Waikato Wars that the first Catholic church was officially built in Herschel Street in 1872. Although established at this time, it would not be until 1903 that there was a resident priest at the parish. This was probably Father George Wüst who died in 1905 and is buried in the Ngaruawahia cemetery.
Ten years later, on the 16th November 1913, Saint Paul’s Catholic Church as we know it today was opened.
